You can make your own biscuit dough ( a recipe included ) or you can use frozen biscuits, thawed and joined together.
Make it easy on yourself!
Ingredients
3/4 cup sugar, plus 2 T for topping
1/4 cup flour
Juice of 1 lemon
Pinch of salt
1 quart of blackberries
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
2 T melted butter
Biscuit dough
Whipped cream
Biscuits:
3 cups flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 cup shortening
1 cup milk (about)
Directions
Mix sugar, flour, salt, lemon juice and 31/2 cups blackberries. ( Reserve 1/2 cup for decorating)
Roll biscuit dough into a rectangle about 16 x 9.
Mix 2 T sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter and coat dough surface.
Place blackberry mixture down the center, longways. Roll up and shape into a ring on greased cookie sheet. Pinch ends and cut into 2 inch slices, ONLY THROUGH THE TOP BISCUIT LAYER.
If dough is too soft and tears, just pinch back together.
Bake in a preheated oven 425 F for 25 to 30 minutes.
Heap remaining berries in center with whipped cream and 2 or 3 berries on top for garnish.
