QUICK Black Forest Bavarian Bliss

   This is definitely a crowd pleaser!  This one takes some chilling time to put together, but you don't have to turn on the oven.



Ingredients

    25  cream filled chocolate sandwich cookies, like Oreos
   1/4  cup melted butter
3 1/2  cup cold heavy cream
   1/3  cup confectioners sugar
      2  tsp vanilla extract
   1/2  cup sour cream
      2  cans (16 oz each) dark sweet pitted cherries in
heavy syrup
      2  boxes (.3 oz each) sugar free black cherry gelatin
mix, like Jell-o
      2  packages (.25 oz each) unflavored gelatin



Directions

   In blender, pulse cookies 10 times.  Stir in butter; press into bottom of 9" springform pan. Chill. 

   In bowl of electric mixer on high speed, beat heavy cream, confectioner's sugar and vanilla extract 3 minutes, or until stiff peaks form.  Fold in sour cream;  chill.

   Drain cherries, reserving 1/4 cup syrup.  In blender, puree cherries.  In bowl, combine gelatin and 1 cup boiling water;  let sit 2 minutes.  Add 1 cup cold water.

   Spoon 1/2 gelatin into bowl;  place bowl in ice-water bath 2 minutes, or until mixture is consistency of mayo, stirring often.

   In bowl of electric mixer with whisk attachment,  beat chilled gelatin 1 minute.  Stir in cherries and 2 1/2 cups whipped cream mixture;  spread on prepared crust.  

   Chill 10 minutes.

   In bowl, combine 3 cups cream mixture, reserved syrup and remaining gelatin mixture; spoon into prepared pan.  Chill 10 minutes.  Top with remaining whipped cream mixture.
